A: Cops that find out there’s an issue with the repo of a car should make sure they do everything to keep the situation under control. A repo man does not need to have a court order or any documents on them. But, if no laws were broken, the repo man is allowed to take the car. The repo man is not allowed to break any laws during a repo, like trespassing or breaking in to a place, and definitely can’t take the owner out of the car. Cops also can’t help them. People can get arrested if there’s enough reason to think that there’s a theft happening at the moment, or basically any other crime.
